RDN 115 validated: thick 88 mm OOA cured panel for Maritime and Industrial applications
22 July 2026
At Rydena, we made a major step forward with Out of Autoclave (OOA) technology
We completed a test campaign on our RDN 115 Smart Cost prepreg to produce an 88 mm thick panel with less than 1% porosity using low temperature OOA curing.
One hundred forty layers of RDN 115.600TC.38%RC carbon prepreg were carefully laid-up and cured at 80°C in an Oven.
This test demonstrates that RDN 115.600TC is a valid candidate for thick, load bearing composite structures particularly for the maritime and industrial sectors.
With competitive pricing and the ability to process without autoclave, RDN 115 offers a compelling solution for manufacturers looking to reduce cost without compromising performance.

Key results:
- Cure process: OOA at 80°C with low controlled exotherm
- Post-cure: Free-standing for 1h at 120°C without exotherm after initial cure
- Panel thickness: 88 mm
- Thickness deviation: ±1.3%
- Fiber volume fraction (Vf): 53%
- Cured ply thickness (CPT): 0.629 mm
- Void content: < 1%
Key takeaways:
- No autoclave required enabling large part manufacturing at lower cost
- Low porosity critical for durability in wet environments
- Controlled exotherm ensuring safe thick laminate manufacturing
- Low thickness deviation ensuring consistent and repeatable process
